So far 100% of the two people that have voted think that foosball should be in the Olympics! Yet as I write this the word foosball is underlined in red because spell check doesn't even consider it a word... unreal

until darts is an olympic sport, foosball is going to have a long, rough ride.... although having table tennis as an olympic sport is a pretty solid legal precedent.

as far as i can see, we're caught right in the middle of darts (pasttime-like sport) and table tennis (miniature example of a real sport, just like foosball)..... we only need a solid, influencial, highly paid lobbyist to put us over the edge..... like a former olympic president or something.

money talks.

Its not an olypic event because I.O.C can't control the outcome with corrupt officials

Maybe in Canada our Dongs are so solid, we need to refer to them twice?

The main issue imo why Foosball has almost no chance to get into the Olympics?

For non-players, it's a terrible TV sport. And because of the relatively small size of the playing field, it's not very good in a live environment as well.

Table tennis, even darts are easier for the uninitiated to view and appreciate than foosball.

Now, one advantage we have over Badminton is that it wouldn't be so easy to lose on purpose for seeding. Once an opponent caught on that a player was deliberately scoring on himself, he'd prevent him from passing the ball backwards Smile
