$100 finders fee for table location - 5barwarrior - 15-Jul-2011

I have a table that I would like to place somewhere in Ottawa. $100 finders fee to anyone that suggests a location. Keep in mind before you start throwing out names of bars/restaurants, it has to be some place that we can get into. So if they already have tables and games from Regent or Howison then we can't get in.

I wonder how much it'd rack up in my office building...

We can make it super cheap. $0.25

I will ask the building super what his thoughts are. I'd be pumpin it full of quarters all the time lol - no $100 finders fee required.

I work at the Honest Lawyer downtown and we have a slew of games and one foosball table, but its a worked garlando glass top and its at the front near the dance floor and no one plays it. There is a fairly large group that plays pool at the two tables near the bar, its not crowded there and its not that loud so much more people play. If you went in and talked to my manager Anna about getting a spot for your table near the back near those tables (the place that comes to mind for me is in between the air hockey tables and the 2 pool tables because there is a good amount of space) then it would pull in a good amount of coin. On top of that I work there 3 days a week and will promote it before/after shifts and possibly during if its not busy. There is also 2-3 more employees that are foosball players but they dont play there because of the garlando, its a dollar a game and the pool is 2 dollars a game so a 50 cents tornado game would be sweet. On Fri and Sat when the club scene starts up at about 10pm it could also be moved to a safe spot so no drink spillage.

Again though this is an idea, no promises, I would have to bring the idea to my boss before anything else gets rolling, but let me know, I can talk to her Wed.

That won't work. You see, all those other games you mention belong to Regent Vending and they have the contract for that bar. We would not be able to get in there because of that.

They used to have a Tornado in there but it wasn't well maintained which is why they switched it for a garlando.

how about the basement area of James Street Pub? They have a lonley pool table down there... it could use some company.

RE: $100 finders fee for table location - 5barwarrior - 19-Jul-2011

Certainly. Next time you are in, check if there is a sticker on the table showing you which vending company it belongs too. Also if you know any of the management ask if they know if the bar has a contract with any vending company (as there is an exclusivity clause). If there is more vending equipment in the place it would be a good give away that someone has the vending contract.

Didn't you used to have one at Algonquin college?

I'll check at Pub 101. I know they have pool tables, but am unsure from where.

I only hesitate to say my building because there isn't a lot of traffic at it, and I'd be probably one of few that'd be pumpin coins into it. but if there's nowhere else to put it... what about my basement?

I also know that the Dominion does not deal with a vendor... They have 2 pool tables that they inherited from the peelers, but they might not want a foos table.

I am trying to get into algonquin. Just met someone today who knows the head of residence. They are going to introduce us.

I would be careful of putting a table at Algonquin. When I went there the guys who would play on it were stuffing the holes with gloves and playing for free. That is why it no longer has a tornado table anymore.
