New Warrior Table?
#1
Announcement Here...

Well it looks like there actually is going to be a new model produced... Interesting development. I always liked the Warrior, but after the last run, I think there'll be far less bought for fear of getting burned by a table that falls apart.

Fernando DaRosa designed it this time, hopefully it withstands play a little better than it did before. As a catch 22, I hope they didn't change the feel too much, passing and shooting felt really nice.

If there is a substantial tour, even an amateur one like Flaherty proposed, it would be a viable alternative again.

Thoughts?

don't know. Until you see the table it would be hard to know if they fixed things. They chose ease of shipping over solid construction. It's the Ikea model of foosball. Ikea will make the back of a bookcase (the piece that provides the most strength and rigidity) out of a folded! piece of cardboard making the whole thing weak and useless. Warrior did the same with their tables. They shipped the cabinet in pieces to save on shipping rather than build the cabinet themselves and ensure its strength in order to save $50 on shipping.

Not really concerned and can't see much coming out of this effort, mainly because from info so far it is a home model table. No value to a tour or a bar setting.
Waste of time until you see a coin op and a good one.

Agreed that there is no value to a bar setting, but no value to a tour is debatable, especially with the money Flaherty could put into a tour. He's the only promoter who consistently pumps tens of thousands of dollars expecting a net loss into tournaments.

Who knows, if the jigsaw puzzle is pretty solid after assembly, you could see IFP jump ship again.

The previous run DID have value when IFP was running their tournaments on Warrior.

Looks better than I thought, interesting rod installation, theres a slit cut away so men never come off the rod, kind of like fireball except unique in its own way as well. Wtf are those things coming off the table to guard the rods? There like plastic tubes, whats the purpose?

Not crazy aout the plastic covers for the rods. Looks bulky and would probably get in the way during gameplay.

I'm sure that's an option. Warrior over the years have experimented with various safety covers for the rods, but they were never used during tournament play.

It's an interesting table design regardless. One worry of mine would be the slits in the sidewall... how would that effect the structural integrity of the MDF as opposed to just using holes?

For the right price I'd pick one of these up. My Tornado game has definitely suffered since the loss of my old Warrior.

I agree. I don't think those openings would take as much force... otherwise they would have done that on both sides.

It does look like a decent quality build though, and hopefully it's priced well.

The ^^^^ means your agreeing with the post directly above yours, so if sum1 else has posted in between you cannot ^^^^, you must quote. Hence ^^^^^, to minimize quotes.
