So can people confirm that they are going to this and confirm teams. The Syracuse qualifier is coming up and teams should be established. I see that the favorites for 1st will probably be Merv and Jon, is there any trip funding for 2nd and/or 3rd? I assume the qualifier will be trip funding based on however many entries there are, so a large turn out would bring in more funding for 1st 2nd and 3rd (or just 1st I dunno what the payout is).

As described in the qualifier tournament post, there will be funding for all OFA members who will be attending NY. Prize money will be spread out so that as many people as possible who are going to NY will get a package.

Im still confused as to payouts, you say it is described in the qualifier tournament post but all I see is

"Prize money will double if you go to Syracues!
$20 prize money for any league member going to Syracuse who plays in the tournament.
Rules:
1) You have to inform the tournament staff of your intention of going to Syracuse at the START of the tournament. Doubling prizes will be given AT SYRACUSE!!!
2) Prize money will be calculated based on attendance and if the winners are going to Syracuse. OFA will be adding some (most) of the doubling money (depending on attendance).
3) Basically you know we won't screw anyone over. So don't worry too much about the numbers until we actually have number!"

So what I understand from that is: A) If I play in both events ($40) regardless of how I finish I will get $20 dollars. B) Depending on attendance (lets say we have 16 players, 8 doubles teams and 16 singles players 16x$40=$640) $640 will be distributed between the players going that played in the tournament?

The only issue im having is that I don't think any1 not already planning on going to syracuse will play in this, and then if that happens then the people going to syracuse will basically play in this event and their money will just be cycled around back to them, bringing us back to square one unless OFA shells out money.

OFA is shelling out money.
Other people will be playing other than those going to Syracuse.

That money will be coming from OFA.
I think you'll be surprized at the number of players who will play that are not going to Syracuse. We'll probably be attracting some out of town players as well.

There will be prize money for players who are not going to Syracuse as well.

Time to focus on the next event. Looking for a partner to confirm for amateur and up. I hear some Toronto boys might come down for this qualifier too

Alright the count down is on, this is one month away. Lets try to finalize our teams and begin the process of booking rooms and arranging rides. Post in this thread or PM me confirming that you will be attending 100%, as of right now its just Casti and I at 100% though I know many of you were interested. The hotel rates go on the 15th so I would like to have everything set for then.

Hey guys - I've got a room booked, but won't be going anymore. Let me know if anyone would like me to transfer the room to their name.
