Match Ups for Wed Nov 21

Tier 1:
PLA (8 points, 4-1) vs M&M (6 points, 3-2)
FB4F (6 points, 3-2) vs PSS (6 points, 3-2)

Tier 2:
IGYSRH (6 points, 3-2) vs Europe (4 points, 2-3)
Kirby (4 points, 2-3) vs J,H,C (4 points, 2-3)

Tier 3:
Hammerblow (2 points, 1-4) vs Nutters (dunno)
AJS (6 points, 3-2) vs Kamakazie (4 points, 2-3)

After playing each other 2 weeks straight and each grabbing a win team Kamakazie and Hammerblow get some fresh competition with Hammerblow taking on the new team Nutters and AJS will try to stop Kamakazie from moving up into tier 2.

IGYSRH is up against Europe in a points grab match up that does not have an impact on the tiers, as Jar, Hack and Cackle look to go 3-0 since their move to tier 2, with a win tonight J,H+C would move back into tier one convincingly (even with a loss they probably still move up). Standing in their way is team Kirby who are fighting to stay in tier 2, with a loss tonight they will be dropped back down.

Tier 1 action is competitive as always with PLA going up against M&M ft. Shady and PSS taking on FB4F. With a win tonight M&M would pull even with PLA atop the points list but with a loss M&M could be bumped into tier two, which I know Merv is looking forward too Tongue. PSS and FB4F are also in a fight to stay in tier one, the winner will solidify their spot in the top two but the losing team will be either be auto bumped to tier 2 (pending an M&M victory) or it will come down to the points between the losing team and M&M (pending an M&M loss). Last week Pulled Snake Sandwich was more like a Snake Sandwich, but if Dan gets in his zone we might just be able to PULL it out this week. har har har

Good luck, have fun, see everyone there tonight.

So are you determining this based on cummulative wins or wins since tier restructure? I thought you guys lost last the two weeks, so why would M&M be potentially on the chopping block?

Wouldn't that mean with a win tonight between Europe & IGYSRH if we end up with more points for vs against and have equal wins, we would end up being top of tier 2 cummulative (we only lost to JH&C by goals, not points in our match).

I don't know if tiers are restructured based on the past three weeks or the standings, my post goes by standings, if it goes by the past 3 weeks things change.
Chris? Packer? thoughts?

I'm 95% sure it's based on the standings overall. Not the last three weeks because that wouldn't be truly representative of the team's success in the season.

To be honest Casti its all fucked up, I didn't use very much consistency when making those claims because I went with standings for tier 1 and the last 3 weeks for tiers 2 and 3 so even I was confused lol. But after talking to Dan it goes by standings so tier 1's predictions remain the same but tier 2 could see you or IGYSRH moving up depending on who wins. Tier 3 will probably have AJS move up regardless.

Hmm...ok so right now if we beat IGYSRH and also keep or add to the +5 point differential we have over JH&C we can move up.

Looking to get my ass kicked by Tier 1 teams!

It should never go by standings, when figuring out Tier movements it should always go by how teams performed during that 3 week period when all teams played eachother in that Tier.

yes, that is how it works. over the current three week interval.

I respectfully disagree - if it goes by standing there is more of a self-correcting process and all have a better chance

Could I get an updated copy of the stats with the break down of the total points and the points earned this tier rotation. I will perform an analysis on the two options to determine if the current format (based on tiers standings) is weaker than based on overall standings (potential new format).

Yeah I think its def something to look into. Chris I text Packer to get on the forum. I see benefits to both sides of the coin. The overall standings would work fine but some restrictions would need to be put in place, for instace if a team in tier 3 goes on a tear for 3 weeks and the teams in tier 2 split wins and losses a team in tier three could potentially have the league points to jump from tier 3 to tier 1. This would rarely happen but if it did a restriction should be put in place that a team can only move up a single tier after 3 weeks.

yeah, I'll try and look at it tonight. The only time this didn't really work was in a summer league (shorter 8 weeks) and JP started in the basement and finished at the top without loosing a match. There was some shenanigans with subs (Tongue) though.

Anyway, I don't expect things to change either way, but I'll double check.
