Just curious, did we choose to implement JP's idea of going to a best 2 out 3 when there is a tie in points, or is still goals as the decider?

Taha, I was thinking about this last night when I saw the sheet. I thought we were all agreed we would play another set of dubs to decide. I think you got taken. This should have been brought up before now. Chris feel free to jump in here. I am pretty sure if you think back no one liked the idea of losing by goals in tight matchs.

2/3 doubles. It is in the rules I wrote up but never shared with anyone. I'll have to remedy that.

Oh great. I guess we'll have to play that match next Wednesday before league starts?

Alright.

This was the post where JP brought up the idea. Key work brought up, nothing was decided, even though there was support.

This is the post that Chris commented on it. (page 5)

"I am working on clarifying the league rules that will be printed on the back of the sheets. Some of those rules will be:
1) The a fore mentioned doubles point change.
2) Match winners will be decided by points, then tie break 2/3 double. Goals will no longer decide a winner.
3) Clarification on Roller ball.
4) Clarification on subs during league - any sub okay.
5) Clarification on subs during playoffs - subs need to be equivalent and approved.
6) Team forfeiture due to absence and how points are allocated.
7) Team schedule - particular the last week, where possible the top two team will face each other in the last week to prevent other teams influencing the final outcome."

'Working on clarifying them' to me means they are not set yet and since you never shared them with anyone I don't know how they could be implemented.

Neither team raised the issue last night, so nobody got taken, both sides believed FoosB4Family had won, and the goal differential was over 10.
We should not have to play them next week imo. That should have happened last night if you wanted it too.

The league night ended with a tie in points. The question at this point is what are the rules in the case of a tie. It means nothing that we all walked away thinking that FoosBF had won because the goal differential was over 10.

Admit it, if the situation was reversed, you'd be asking the play the doubles match because "that's what the rules say".

In this case because it was not brought up last night before everyone left I am leaning towards agreeing with Jesse on this. I think we actually ageed to implement this procedure or rule going forward when this was last discussed. However, since it is only being brought up now on the board and everyone left last night happy I dont think it would be right to play another set. As the league coordinator and VP Ops I say let the win stand for Foos Before Family. Sorry Taha. Now if you want to appeal my decision you can always take it up with the President who may overrule me in these matters.

You cannot just change rules without informing the player base.

For example you and Vern said it should have been another doubles set, which is not what we voted on at all, we voted on forward shootout style like in the NHL. The existing rules take precedent over discussed rule possibilities.

I actually support the idea of a forward shoot out, and had it been said last night I would have played.

Well that's just lame. The new rules were discussed and posted and they're being ignored because we forgot about them when we walked away from the table?

Can I conveniently forget other rules in order to avoid implementing them?

Taha Jesse, Just a note . No foward shootout. I am not even going to look for the post but I know we agreed that going forward we would in the event of a tie go to another set of dubs.
This escaped everyone last night including me. There will not be a forward shootout. I think because we all left and no one even mentioned this that we go under the old rule or procedure which is goals. I have the sheet you guys counted goals for and left it at that.
Therefore the win by goals stands in my opinion.
Now this is final upon the approval of president who has in my opinion the final say if you choose to further appeal to him.
Fill you boots and feel free to ask Chris and I have no problem with this as the final option.

I think I will ask Chris for a ruling here. The fact that we counted goals is irrelevant. We, the league participants, handed you a sheet where the end result was a tie in points. What do the league rules say we have to do in this situation? That is the only question. Saying that "we thought" the match was over and we "counted goals" is not something that is listed in league rules.
