Winter League - Play Foos - Get Pizza
#1
Hello All:

We are going to be starting up the fall points race for the months of Oct and Nov.

Free pizza for anyone who participates.
Two tiers.
BYP format (ie Double Elimination chart - Pros on the top, Beginners on the bottom).
2 points a win on the winners side
1 point a win on the losers side.
$5/week for pro players
Free for beginners
Pre season Sept 24 - Let us promote and get the kinks out.

This will be a promotional league - so the $5/week will go to cover the costs of the pizzas and fliers. The intent is to get new bodies out and playing.

Prizes - Either Jackets or Jerseys for the top two players from each division. In the event of a tie, a playoff match will be played.

Fliers - I can get them designed up and sent off to Chris A. But I'll need some help to get them put up.

Sounds good Chris. I think it's a great idea, could definitely draw in some new blood with free pizza! I'll take care of putting up posters at Carleton U.

Since Wednesdays will be BYPs, I'll be entering the results at Netfoos each week to continue updating our over-all stats. (Will be handy when/if we setup our local point system)

I also entered lasts night's DYP. For those of you who don't know, Netfoos is what we use. Here's the link:

Sounds like a great idea Chris.

This BYP format - does this mean you can have a different partner of your choice every week?

yes. That way if your partner bails or sucks you can switch and still get points. The idea of giving prizes for the top two players is to encourage people to stay teamed up with the same person. Trying to build partner relationships like in the 70's.

Awesome.

I'll be missing that pre-season night, as that will be my first night in Vegas. Hope it goes well!

No spinning.
Middle ok but not that popular, except for me. Smile

There are a bunch of other "Official" rules that we'll introduce to you over time: Time limits, passing rules, time outs, resets, jarring...

Jon, Jon and I played some games with him yesterday. Like Mario, Kane and myself, he's an ex-fabi player from Toronto...and has all the habits that come with that. Wink

Hopefully he'll make it out to the tourney next weekend. Just found yourself another player for the beginner div Chris Smile

sorry i didn't see any official numbers in the initial post... wanted to confirm: these are two-man teams?

Am still playing with Dave, but was going to bring my buddy Frank back into the mix... not sure he'll be interested if he's not my partner. Would anyone take Dave? I think Dave might play no matter what... but we'll lose Frank for sure.

lemme know,

You don't have to have a permanent partner for every week. You could go back and forth playing with both of them?

I can play with Dave every second week or so... or even all the time. It's a promotional league anyway.
