You show up and claim your table.

You want a rule, here is a rule. If you can play a LEAGUE GAME and there is a open table, where no league game is being played, then you can use that table.

So show up on time, have the sheet filled out, and pick your table. If you don't like a table, then get there early enough not to get stuck with it.
