I'm going to split this to another thread I'll go start now ... I've actually been working on this and have another rock star dev who is on board to help build it with me, albeit part time since a lot of my time is used up.

Dodgy how about helping me finish our stats, extend it to the DYP, and work on a rating system?

Alright back to the committee topic.

I am thinking of having our next meeting next week some time. I would like to try an online meeting so we can get Chris Adamantitis in on it. We could use Skype, AnyMeeting, anyone have any others they prefer?

We could do it Wednesday, or we could do it another day that works better.

Let me know.

Going to this Friday before the DYP 7pm sharp on Skype.

That way tomorrow night I can just inform everyone and get their heads thinking about it before we have the meeting.

Please everyone PM me your Skype contact information and I will add you. That way on Friday right at 7pm I will send out a group call.

Meeting notes from last meeting (unformatted). As usual would be beneficial to get feedback in public or private from the President on thoughts on direction of this:

We are confirmed for April 4th weekend:

Events we are planning to run:
- open singles, open doubles, women's doubles, dyp, beginner doubles, team event
-- payouts will be deeper in open events, possibly to 12+ spots. last year's AM we believe deterred a lot of the Ottawa locals from coming out, so we wanna put a beginner doubles where the highest rated ppl who should be allowed to play are Ken/Waleed/Jason/Kevin/Mario type of people. Team event is a 4 person type of event which will be an annual 'fun' event we want to try to consider. Considering building a trophy for this 'annual' type thing. Capped so it's a point system based on skill, and your team can't have more than 'X' points on it ... gives incentive to get all the locals to come out at least for this.

- Packages (not final):
PM/Elite/Pro: 150
Expert: 130
Amateur: 100
Beginner: 50

- Timetable

Friday DYP
8:30 start

Saturday tournament
9:30 registration, 10am start
-- reason here is last tournament we ran into Sunday 3am. Now, we did have 2 gray marbles no one really wanted to use that got stuck on free play, but we'd like to try to aim to be finished by 4-6pm or so on Sunday if we can swing it that way.

Expected turnouts (not sure what we can do with this, but it's worth tracking):
PM/Elite: 1-5
Pro: 1-5
Expert: 10-15
Amateur/Rookie: 15-25
Beginner: 15-25

Location breakdown we are targetting:
Quebec: 5-10
Montreal: 5-10
Toronto: 10
Usa: 5
OFA: 30 (last year this number was like 8-10. We REALLY need to work on our own product first, so that's why we want to focus on beginner/womens/team events this time around. All the out of towners who are high amateur to pro -- we've got their money already. And if they can place in the top 12ish they'll be able to get some money back anyways out of the Open events).

Things to still go over:
- What could payouts look like?
- What kind of swag do we want to do? (feedback from last year is we should have generic 'OFA' tshirts that can be circulated irrespective of the tournament year)
- what kind of local promos do we wanna run? free local packages to the player who _____ in the ____ league/dyp?
- anything else we've missed.

Thanks Casti for taking to the time to write out the meeting minutes.

I forgot to bring it up at the meeting again but just wondering what you guys thought about having a 5-6 week points race at the friday dyps leading up to the tournament? Maybe half the funds from each dyp can go towards the tournament for things like free shirts for local players (even more incentive to get them involved). Not to mention this would be a great opportunity for practice leading up to the big event!
