2014 Winter League Schedule - Rotation 4
#46
Then you should have said "is Ben subbing for you guys week 15?", not "So if you have Ben as your sub on Garlando in the next rotation, and you win league by 2 points, you'd feel comfortable with that?".

Big difference between an honest question and a loaded question.

You might have won with Packer anyway. You might have won with just using 2 players (as you have done every other time in the past when a tier 1 player was not available to sub), but I guess we'll never know. I was asking because I wanted to know. Now I know. That's it.

We have used 2 players once out of three times this year. Concentrate on your easy wins while you can, this won't be an issue because you guys will probably lose a bunch when you move up to tier 1 and split your points so no one will catch us regardless.

You keep thinking this is about foosball, and it's not. Keep up the attacks though. Good job.

You keep failing to understand my point at all.

This is all not likely to happen:

1) We might not even play on Garlando.
2) Who is going to be within 2 points of us? Your team or any other team has to win every single week from here on out, and we have to lose a bunch to get to that since we have points in the bank.
3) You got mine and Jesse's answer, which was yes if we have to play on Garlando we have an approved sub for us, this is Tier 1 figure out how to win. There are 2 other players on the team you can work on shutting down if it comes to that.
4) You're making false statements about our sub policies in the past.

So what is this about then? Were you expecting a different response? You're trying to stir the pot...that's exactly what you're doing.
Think about it from our point of view:

We need a sub for the next 5 weeks. Clearly based on your incorrect allegations that we try to play with 2 players every time, it's preferred we grab a 3rd.

So does it not make sense to secure a player who is equal on Tornado to Packer for 5 weeks of Packer's absence, vs trying to grab someone else (who?) on the off-chance we might happen to have to play 1 more week on Garlando (not likely since we just did this rotation of Garlando in Tier 1, so other 2 teams will have to play it out next time).

$50 says our team doesn't even play on Garlando from here on out (regular season). Any takers?

1 & 2 are irrelevant.

3 is the point.

If I made a mistake on 4, then I apologize. My mistake. This was based on my observations last winter league and this one. I seemed to recall your team always playing with 2 players last winter league rather than get a sub, unless you could get Dan K. If this is not the case, then I stand corrected in the absolute, but I believed (and still do) that my observation was correct in general. Strictly out of curiosity (don't read anything into this), who were the 2 subs you got this year when you were short?

No they are completely relevant because this is a discussion on a lot of what-if's which are not going to happen if you look at the schedule. This entire league the format has been: you play on Garlando on one rotation, the next your team doesn't so it balances out who plays on garlando in each rotation for that tier. We took that into account when the sub was chosen, so we're talking about a hypothetical scenario which isn't going to happen.

There's no personal attacks here, like I mentioned, your team has been incosistent in Tier 1, so you gotta worry about winning every single week anyways AND for our team to somehow be stuck playing on Garlando two rotations in a row for this to be relevant, so it's very speculative and hypothetical at this stage.

Of the 3 times we were missing players this league: One was played as 2-man, we lost, one of the subs was Hoss (we lost), the other was Ben last week (vs the tier 2 team that moved up) and we won that one on Garlando.

I'll take that bet because THERE IS A GOD DAMN SCHEDULE POSTED you twits.

Which states that the 3 Horse Men play Who Needs Practice in the final rotation for Tier 1.

TL;DR for the entire thread

Taha

You think we don't see that this isn't about foosball?

You come on here questioning our integrity (mainly Casti and I because Dan is leaving) and try to disguise it as an "honest question" when in reality its a loaded question in an obvious attempt to make us look bad in front of others.

We have worked hard, and played well to get to the point we are at, and when we do win league it will be because we deserve it, so I would appreciate it if you would stop trying to diminish our achievement because your bitter about losing.

all the back-and-forth aside (which i skipped), i think it would be a pretty nice achievement to win league.

how close are the girls to FoosB4Family? who has the best chance of catching you if you lose again next week?

i'm sure there's a sheet, but i'm not there right now and i'm thinking that someone here knows off-hand...

If the girls won last night they are at 15 points and we remain at 16, so I believe if they won last night they would be the closest to winning.

Yes there is a schedule, goes all the way to week 15 too

Unfortunately (and this has nothing to do with the bitching in lofty tier 1) shit happens and no one is to blame:

because of team forfeit and necessary adjustments, Good Times played on Garlando an unscheduled third time last night

so I would hope there is a further adjustment to assign the scheduled week 14 garland onto someone else? (there are a few teams which otherwise would play on it only twice)

so there, some whining coming from the depts of tier 1.5 Sad edit: oops, tier 2.5
