[split] Practicing techniques - Trash Talking
#1
Thanks Paul for asking these Qs, cause they are very helpful for me as well.

Pixel is Mario - the bearded buddy just escaping his 'teens

As for the answers - Thank both of you Omar and Mario.

Cheers

if anyone's ever out in the bells corners area, moodie/huntclub and wants to set up some games, I know me and Graeme would love a team to practice against, I have a table @ my place (Warrior table)

Keep it commin guys, I'm lovin it!

Best thing to do with JP is poke him in the eye when he shoots.....

If that doesn't work, shut the angles down that give him the shots he named after a Taco Bell menu......once he fails a few times he won't try to shoot it anymore.

Remember young Jeidi, once you block any of the better players a few times, their esteem becomes equivalent to Taha's in a singles bar.....nil, zero, nada......

See you punks tonight, I'll try and make it for the training session. If not, class will begin after league!

Hi Paul. I'm Mario. Pretty sure we met last week.

Omar made a lot of good points - absorb them! I hear osmosis works well for this sort of thing.

I don't have much time to post @ work anymore, so I'll explain whatever I can tonight.

One thing about your last post - there is nothing that dictates a "slow" defense or a "fast" D is better for a snake vs a pull vs a burrito. :p . The speed of your D should be based on the shooter's style, mindset, preferences, and abilities - that you will learn over the course of a match.

PS - I live around the Greenbank/Baseline area, and I have a Tornado at my place.

well Mario, perhaps we should set up a few home and away games at your place and mine! Dunno if you're interested on playing on the warrior tables at all, but it's always good to broaden your horizons right? We definately met... a few times. I jsut wasn't sure who Pixel was.

I'll be heading over there for 7; pizza @ rockwells is half price wednesday nights; gotta hit that up every time!

If you need a 4th player I'm willing to practice every Tuesday. I know I'm not much of a challenge, but I guess it's better to practice against me than no one at all. Big Grin

SON OF A BITCH. I just wrote a massive long post, and it got swallowed up by the board because IE8 decided to magically log me out after I hit "submit post". ARGH.

so Mario, you had the opportunity to see first hand my defence; I pretty much shut Omar down (lol he shut himself down I think Tongue ) but any tips or even things you saw that I did right?

I definately got you to shoot a middle pull which I was able to stop; whether you were trying your best or not is (and should remain) questionable Big Grin

Smile You definitely did a good job of shutting down Omar...though he can get a bit stubborn. Wink I noted a couple of things about your snake defence that we can work on when we get some time, and I will show you why next time (basic explanation: you fell into a pattern, that I'm not sure if you knew about or not, but that would always leave the side that your 2-bar was switching TO open for about 2 seconds).

You definitely did bait me for a middle pull last night - well done! I was surprised because everyone else just tends to race my long...which is why I continually hit that split. You decided to leave the long open, which tripped me out for a bit. ;p

Hahahaha!!!! That's the first time I've ever heard someone talk about how they shut down Omar's 3! 90% of the time you could have lifted both men up and made the save!

See you all tomorrow!!!!!!!!
