OFA is proud to formalize a mentorship program that encourages senior players to play with and train new proteges during leagues. This has been informally done in the past during spring and summer leagues with great success.
Here's how the program will work:
An experienced player, typically a tier 1 player, will team up with one or more lower ranked player, typically tier 3. The mentor can then apply to have OFA sponsor their league fees. Note, mentors can inquire prior to team formation.
The goal is to provide leadership and tutorials to new players and help them foster good foos habits and skills.
This program will be tried during the 2013 spring and summer leagues. If proven successful we will continue it indefinitely.
There will be coaching awards given out at the end of each league.
