Tier 1 League Sheet
#46
just wanted to clarify, ahead of time before league starts, that i think it's been agreed (in a previous thread i started mid-season) that from now on when teams are tied at the end of the league sheet, goals is NOT the decider. The decider is another best 2-of-3 doubles match, so that everyone gets to play to break the tie.

Correct? Just wanted to make it clear....

Yes I believe that was the consensus and I'm sure the majority of those who did not take part in the discussion would also be in agreement.

Ok noted. Keep the suggestions coming.

Edited for clarity:
Should the tiebreaker doubles have a similar format to Set 1 or Set 2 players that play in that order or can you choose who starts so long as all players have played by match #2.

You will play all three games now. Two wins =2. Three wins =3.

I wouldn't recommend to play all 3 games.

Worst case scenario that can happen you end up with: 5 extra games played with tie breaker, which adds considerable amount of time just to determine a winner.

Let's be conscious of people's time and keep this to standard 2/3 games.

whatever, we already decided that as an elegant solution to the number of games per player so that everyone plays the same number of games.

I may have missed that. If its been decided we'll keep it that way.

This got decided? Does the other team get a point if they win game 3 or do they just stop the other team from getting 3?

guys, better add all the rules on the League sheet somewhere, so that whenever printed they are present and visible, or there will be mayhem

Once we finalize I'll try to have rules printed on the back or on a few separate sheets to reference on the back of the boards.

This might be a good starting point.

I think in the 3rd game the other team if they win should be able to get a point to finish the doubles 2-1.

geez i don't know about that Jester... i don't like the idea of awarding coveted points for mediocrity. I think the 3rd game should just prevent the winning team from getting all 3 points and getting 2 points instead. I mean, going from 3 points to 2 points -- isn't that like the losing team gaining a point anyway?

p.s. for Deliverance, the tie-breaker doubles would mimic the first set.

Agree with all this

I'll post the new sheet with updated rules by the end of the week.
