There's arguably 3 strong teams in what will be considered "Tier 1" or near the top, plus Vern/Gid/Mary who will still be competitive against the majority of teams as well.

I'm guessing it'll be FBF vs Walking Dead Bars and our team vs Vern/Gid/Mary and then winners play each other next week at least for the top half of the team list.

Mark/Steve/Josh might surprise some people too but it will be tough for them to crack the top tier.

What are we, chopped liver? I think we can take down Vern/Gid/Mary. Then we're coming for you!

Are we doing tiers for 8 teams?

Tiers would be best, but there will be contingency plans for various numbers of teams.

For example, what do we do if there is 7 or 9 teams.

What are the Tier adjustment timelines like? It just seems weird as the schedule is only 8 weeks long? This would mean that each team would play each other once. Which really sounds quite appealing to me and should be competitive to those at the top as well.

While I agree there are some top teams that will be at the top - my concern with tiers is for those teams in the middle and given how the transparency in the last league was taken care of wrt points...etc. and final rankings I have some concerns with that.

Hello Josh:

I appreciate your concerns and will try to address all of them.

First - The final league format CAN NOT be decide until ALL the teams have registered. Once that is stable, we will publish exactly what the format will be. This will likely not happen until after tonight. Herding cats is not easy.

B) I agree that the transparency in the last league could have been improved upon. Vern and I will address this.

iii) League rules are included on with the new league sheet.

Vern will post an update after lunch.

Spring League Update and Matchups

Looks like seven or eight teams. Being optomistic here. So far it looks like a round robin format over tiers. Tiers could work but we are leaning towards the round robin everyone plays each other once. The problem here is if a team doesnt show. We then have to play a Three Team Sheet which is not optimal. Three team sheets become even more of a problem as the league progresses.

Matchups for April 3rd tonight League Money due.

It is FBFoos vs Jesse, Casti and Packer
Merv, Jon and Manny vs. V,Gid and Mary
Taha Ellie Ken vs Jason and Kevin and Spare
Josh Steve Marc vs. Fabien, Brian and Spare

which format is affected the least by a 3-team sheet? round robin or tiers?

both suck donkey balls
you can't do a tier with 7 teams, you would have 4 teams in one group and 3 in another. You can't do a rotation with only 3 teams.

We would continue with a rotation schedule with only 7 teams. We would just need to work out the schedule so that the three man sheets are balance across the board. That would be the biggest challenge. Or one team doesn't play each week.

7, 8, or 9 teams who knows, this seems the season for round robin -- we have not done for leagues in many years, there are benefits when all teams play each other, even for that couple of blow-outs, and the team lineup makes for difficult splitting into tiers -- why sweat it?

time to go round [Image: http://www.animalspot.net/wp-content/upl...ctures.jpg]

anyway the 3-team sheet seems quite separate from the tier issue, if we have an odd number of teams just rotate it and take it easy

I think it should be round robin, the newer players have expressed as desire to play the top tier teams.
