Don't listen to them, you are a wonderful NEWB, you listen, implement, and try hard. And you bring cookies.

I'd take you over Merv any day. He never lets me play front.

I was drawn with Shadi recently and we were out in two -- Mary probably did better

Mary,
I actually enjoy playing DYP with a newbie and I'm probably not the only one.
It's great practice for me because there's additional pressure on me to make that pass or score that goal. Those are perfect tournament scenarios.

Good D is hard to find, keep up your D game and any1 will want you as their goalie. I have played in some tournaments with Elli and we play well together, and its because she holds it down on D, just like ol Packster. Any good forward will love a goalie that gives them the opportunity to win the game, by making 4-6 saves, and making 10-20 clears (both of which you are doing well). Passes and goals are just bonus on D too, always remember that.

Didn't we play in a DYP a couple times Mary? I think we did well in at least 1 of them.

Making saves is overrated. To be a solid goalie: Clear the ball, Stop slop, keep the ball in your zone. To be an outstanding goalie: All those things plus some timely saves (and timely is important.. watch Merv. See how many times he can make a save on 4-4).

Any time you don't do one of those 3 things is one more save you have to make.

hahahaaa, Mary I love you man... well i see the rest of the guys have correcly assured you in subsequent posts that there was no disrespect intended by my comment. It was more of a reference to Shadi, who is a great supportive player for any pro... so when he gets a newbie and has to lead, over and over and over again, I feel for him.

Speaking from experience, it's nice to have a mix where, on occasion, you have a night where you can just dump the ball up and have your forward do all the work because they're on a roll. You get paired with a newb 3-4 weeks in a row, you gotta be "on" all the time. screw that noise!

don't think so... tourney starts at 9pm, his parents get home around then, and he makes it for 9:30pm... that's the scenario i was given.

either way, i have to call an audible... kid has the flu, so does the wife. fkn gross.... puke everywhere - every hour on the hour for 3 hours now.... i'm going to be up all night, and not going to work tomorrow.

i'm out. sorry lads.
