"ONLY" Vern and gid? If I were a prick I'd be insulted -- then again, not at all, I share your sentiments on this one Biggie.

Over the past few weeks 6 (six) other Ottawa players managed in and then out of this; undoubtly due to force majeure/cas fortuit/casus fortuitus/et cetera -- a common contractual clause that essentially frees from liability or obligations when extraordinary events and circumstance beyond the control of the parties -- such as a war, strike, riot, crime, flooding, earthquake, volcanic eruption or other act of God -- prevents them from fulfilling their stated intentions.

Sadly, shit happens.

We always have a great contingent from Quebec here at the Ottawa tournaments.

It's really too bad! I myself was very dissapointed to find out afterwards that it fell on Mother's Day. This year just happened to be a year that I had something special going on so I had no choice. But for most people it is always an issue! More and more people are having children and stuff and it's pretty hard a couple weeks before to say 'oh by the way sweety I won't be around mother's day weekend I'm playing in a foosball tournament!'

It would have been pretty easy to move it one weekend over or something is all I'm trying to say, because then most of the Ottawa players would have gone! Oh well next time. Hope it went well!

Me and Vern left Sunday as soon as we could grab the lights and our 3rd Amateur Doubles medals. Thanks Biggie, Simon, et all. It was great fun though a bit more than appropriate in my case
