It could be a very good warm-up for France for me.

First off I think Jan.3 is too close to the holidays, lots of people will still be busy with their families. Secondly NY State Championships are the weekend of Jan.17. There are going to be a bunch of people from Ottawa and Montreal going to this! So that could leave us with either a warm-up tournament on Jan 10 for Syracuse or run one at the end of the month.

Jon's right, I think Jan. 10 2009 would give those a great warm up for the following weeks tournament.

I disagree. If we have it on the 31st, we can talk to people while we're at NY State and give out flyers and so on. If we have it on the 10th, you may lose people who can't afford to take 2 weekends off in a row for tournaments.

RIGHT - Keep in mind we only have 3 tables to work with. So if it is only local (ie - Montreal, TO, Ottawa) then that isn't a big deal.

Touche.

I agree with Taha, but see Chris's limitations here.

In any case, KY is the weekend of the 24th, so I don't think we'll get many out of towners no matter when we have it.

I voted for the 31st, mostly because I'll be out of town for all the other weekends. :p

Well we know about 10-15 people in Ottawa are going to play no matter what (Taha, Merv although he can't play on the 10th, Omar, Jon, Etto, Anthony, Frank, Chris, Vern, Gid, JP at the very least). Maybe you should place a call to the Tavares clan and see what they think. Then ask the same question on TornadoQuebec.ca and quebecbabyfoot.com. If it turns out we have 25 players or less, 3 tables should be fine. If we're getting more than 25 players, I strongly advise bringing in an extra table for Saturday.

Also, since we're splitting coin revenue with the bar, how is that going to work with the tables being on freeplay? Are we going to give them a portion of the table fees? Or shall we assure them that they will be selling us enough food to compensate for lack of coin revenue? Or if they want part of the table fees, can we work out a deal on food?

Don't worry about the financial deal with the bar. That is well in hand.

The only other table up to snuff in the city would be Etto's or Vern's.

if you want my opinion... taha's right but like chris said, there are limitations... if you want answers on tornadoquebec.ca... better plug them soon cuz they run monthly tournaments... usually on the beginning of the month... but their forum is pretty dead... nobody except me julien and audrey ever reply lol gotta talk to them personally via phone or email or whatever. quebecbabyfoot.com is a good idea with a lot of activity...you could also pass by foosbarleague.com to post it in our forum... never know if a garlando rwb player wants to play tornado Tongue...

and how about making tournaments in warrior? wouldn't it be feasable... borrow the tables from the kids for 1 day??? with 9 tables... could be a bigger tournament then on 3 tables... just a thought

No Warrior.

The only way we would do a Warrior event would be to do it at the Boys and Girls Club and I don't think the kids are ready to interact with some of our tournament players.

It would be on Tornado. We might be able to get a fourth table in thanks to Mario.
