Can you believe that the season is half over already?
To celebrate we are going to have a mid-season tournament. The idea is to mix things up, let people mingle with others outside their normal playing group and get some extra cash for the holidays.
Here is what going to go down.
Good old one ball to kick things off.
Winner - Pitcher of beer AND nachos (I know, we're splurging)
We'll do it on Tornado this time around for efficiency and the fact that fireball is M.I.A.
DRAFT Your Partner.
Everyone's played a DYP before but this is a little different. We rank the players from top to bottom. The lowest ranked player gets first pick for their partner. Then the second lowest rank pics and so on. Teams are placed in the chart randomly and away we go. There is a $100 in prize money.

when you say first pick for their partner do you mean they say "Merv" or do you mean they get to pick a name out of the hat first?

If you are ranked lowest, you get your first pick of any player not yet picked.

What are the player rankings? Can we get a list? I'm curious what a level a 'middle' player would be.
Also, am I allowed to play? I'm not officially in the league.

My belief is that I get to make fun of your beliefs. Please respect my belief.

The more good players you have who come out, it benefits this draft your partner format. Taha should definitely be allowed to play

Curious...
Considering we are using league funds for the prize money, one would consider that only players who contribute to the league fees should be eligible.
I don't have an issue with it, but some might.

Getting the chance to play with and watch the technique of a good player can benefit league players a lot.

Well Taha...
We certainly would love to have you back -- and by "We" I really mean myself as I can't speak for others. We love your presence and superior playing skills, with or against us, carrying or smashing us, regardless.
Presently you might leaning be for occasional play and rightly so. Why not, pleasant enough, frequent wins, admiration, and all that. But you've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel like I belong here? Well, do ya?
Return of the Prodigal Son
[Image: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co...ni_003.jpg]
"How many of my father's servants have bread to spare, and I'm dying of hunger. I will go unto my father and will say:
- Father, I've sinned in your sight and against heaven. I am no more worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.
But while he was still afar his father saw him, and was moved with compassion and run to him, and called to his servants to dress him in a fine robe and to slaughter the fattened calf to celebrate his return..."
