so, this was just a one time event last Saturday in St. Catharines or will they be doing it again in other places?
(not that I plan to participate)

extend the $50 for October, but with a rider: at least four students attending so: "bring three friends" to make sure

We must rethink the September student promotion. We have given the money away on the last two or three occasions to the lone claimant. Not right. Must be a better way to give our money away. LOL

The turnout is a little disappointing. I would get lots of feedback from the posters but only have one or two show up.
Perhaps refocusing on what works - PS4, XBone tournaments.

I like Gid's suggestion...have a caveat that there must be a minimum of 4 players and if a lone player shows up he/she can still hang out & have fun. (hopefully that would encourage people to bring a friend or two). Maybe for next year..

Why don't you keep a running pot, $100 next week if you don't get at least 4 players, then once you get to $150-$200 make it so 6+ people have to show up to claim it. We can get them hooked into participating in the winter league.

Since our goal is to get them involved more regularly, why not put the money towards free league fees for students, or advertise the first x number of student teams to sign up play free (rather than 1/2 price). Perhaps OFA has tried that b4?
