Never...underestimate...the wee ones. Ryan Moore? He's probably top 3 in the US right now...he's 19.

19 and 9 are completely different worlds. that's like comparing your brother, who is 9 and really good at hockey, to Sidney Crosby.

freakishly talented young people creep me out a bit. I blame the parents.
Did you ever see Christina Aguilera when she was 9? Super creepy little girl who had the voice of a 30 year old.

Oh yeah I forgot you guys left before all the excitement of AD.

As you know things were running slow as Tips and the crew were all playing in Open doubles, Women Singles, Mixed Doubles and Amateur Doubles. So come 5:30, I still haven't played. Brian and crew bails leaving me in search of a partner. I wasn't allowed to grab Vern since he already lost a match. I was allowed to play with someone who wasn't already in the event. I ended up playing with Elly, a strong female goalie.

Well, Kid phenom is three deep in the winners side playing for king seat when his partner has to bail because it is so late. When hockey dad asks Tips if he could sub in someone for the missing partner he was told no and that JR. had to forfeit.

Now as a fellow tournament director I agree and understand how you can't change teams in the middle of an event but I normally give some lee way if everyone is cool with it. I think Tips offered this but wouldn't let hockey dad make an announcement.

Then they find out that I was allowed to sub someone in. (Remember I haven't played a match yet, big difference!!!) Anyway, Hockey Dad wasn't pleased. Not sure how this finally played out as I went two and out within 20 minutes and then left for home.

Too bad, that kid was good.
