The main issue imo why Foosball has almost no chance to get into the Olympics?
For non-players, it's a terrible TV sport. And because of the relatively small size of the playing field, it's not very good in a live environment as well.
Table tennis, even darts are easier for the uninitiated to view and appreciate than foosball.
Now, one advantage we have over Badminton is that it wouldn't be so easy to lose on purpose for seeding. Once an opponent caught on that a player was deliberately scoring on himself, he'd prevent him from passing the ball backwards
