Mid Season Tournament

basically if you're not a pussy with sore feelings and an easily bruised ego, you can learn a lot from these assholes.

lol. Well maybe Merv has mellowed a bit. But he has had some legendary moments when he gets frustrated. Does anyone remember "Ornament!!!" from the Dave Walker days? Ahh.. memories.

not sure i was there for that one.... i'll have to ask Walker the next time i see him...

as an aside - has anyone, who wasn't on his team that night, ever spoken to Merv after a loss? How many times have you heard him say, "our opponent just played better than us that game."

uh, never.

and he's not about to start blaming himself! lol....

what he never says is that the opponent outplayed him; just that he fucked up. When I was on his team he owned up the loss a few times - he's a competitive guy but he's not an idiot.

He's mellowed a lot since he stopped wearing jean shorts.

I would say the same, but I'm going to wait and see the list first. Is it going to be posted here or do we just get to see it tonight?

Edit: I take that back. I think I am going to win.

1st) Jon/Julian
2nd) Jesse/Jason
3rd) Merv/Fabian

Great fun guys, it was nice to everyone from league playing in a tournaments setting and getting into it. Best 2/3 straight up foosball is a change from the mix of different gametypes played during regular league and though I saw from frustration at times from some of the weaker players it passed very quickly as I think they realized they were recieving advice to improve their game and they got a chance to see what tournament foosball is like.

See you all Friday, and btw we didn't do the one ball for beer and nachos, so we should do one on friday.
